Patch Testing forLash Lift & Tinting
IS A SKIN SENSITIVITY/PATCH TEST NECESSARY?
Because we put your safety first, a short, complimentary consultation and patch test is necessary for every tinting, lash lift and henna treatment we carry out.
Very few people have a reaction to the tint or lifting solution, but that doesn't mean you wont be one of them. It is only in rare situations that the reaction can be severe. Even people who have their eyelashes and eyebrows tinted regularly can still have an allergic reaction.
WHAT IS THE PATCH TEST PROCESS?
You will need to ensure you come in for your consult and patch test at least 24-48 hours before your treatment.
The actual patch test process is very quick and simple taking around 15 minutes all up. The tint/lifting solution is applied either behind your ear or your inner elbow, whichever you prefer. We leave this on for 10 minutes and while it is developing, you can fill in your consent form and we can use this time to have a chat about what happens during the treatment and address any questions or concerns you may have.
We then just need to wait 24-48 hours to see if any subsequent irritation occurs.
DO I NEED TO HAVE PATCH TEST AT EVERY TREATMENT?
No. Once you’ve had a patch test at Infinity Brow Beautique, it is then valid for as long as you continue to use our services, or for 6 months after your last tinting/lash lift treatment. If you haven't been into the salon for over 6 months, you will need to have a repeat patch test.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I HAVE A REACTION?
This is very rare, only clients with very sensitive skin really get any sort of allergic reaction, and even if you do experience some redness or itching, it’s extremely unlikely it will be severe. Should you experience redness, or any other kind of allergic reaction splash the area with cold water and avoid using any perfume or makeup products on the area until the reaction has disappeared. Unfortunately, if you do experience any kind of reaction from the tint or lifting solution, we cannot carry out the treatment. It’s very important that you inform us that you have had a reaction, as your safety is even more important to us that beautiful brows or lashes!
